Sova Origin horizontal recessed baby changing station with stainless steel frame, for daycares and child care centres

The Sova Origin recessed baby changing station is a fold-down changing table with a stainless steel frame for washrooms in childcare centres (CPEs), daycares and public buildings, used for diaper changes of infants (0 to 18 months) and toddlers (18 months to 3 years). Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), it is 38.07 in. wide and projects only 0.5 in. from the wall when closed.

Recessed into the wall, it blends with the room's finish and stays out of the traffic path. When open, the changing surface is 14.25 in. deep. The built-in liner dispenser keeps disposable liners within reach while you keep one hand on the child, and the integrated hook holds a diaper bag or purse. Available in three finishes: stainless steel and light grey, black and stainless steel, black and black stainless steel.

Features of the Origin recessed changing station

• Recessed installation with stainless steel frame – 0.5 in. projection when closed, for busy washrooms and hallways
• Non-porous polyethylene – bacteria-resistant surface that is easy to clean with a disinfectant
• Heavy-duty steel-on-steel hinge – tested up to 250 lb, well beyond the ASTM requirement of 50 lb
• One-handed adjustable safety strap – polyurethane-coated nylon, easy to wipe and sanitize
• Built-in liner dispenser – disposable liners always ready during changes
• Made in the USA – 5-year warranty, ADA and ANSI compliant when properly installed

The recessed Origin suits new construction or renovation projects in child care centres and private daycares, as well as shared washrooms where the station must sit flush with the wall without taking up passage space. It is also built for busy public washrooms: shopping centres, schools, restaurants, arenas, airports and public buildings.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to plan a wall opening?
Yes, this model installs in recessed mode only. The opening dimensions are listed in the manufacturer's installation instructions and spec sheet; plan it with your contractor.

Is the mounting hardware included?
Yes: screws, anchors, washers and caps are supplied.

How do I clean it?
Wipe the surface and strap with a disinfectant after each change. The non-porous polyethylene does not absorb liquids, and the stainless steel frame cleans with a damp cloth.
